Rooted, Not Rattled: How to Stay Grounded After Imposter Syndrome

Happy Tuesday!

I your MonYAY was amazing! If you’ve been reading and/or watching this series, I hope that you’ve gathered some tools to help you identify if you’re dealing with imposter sydrome and how to stop it- one day at a time.

Quick Recap-

In Blog 1, we got honest. We named what imposter syndrome really is, how it speaks, and how it messes with our confidence—even when we know we’re qualified, capable, and called.

In Blog 2, we looked at how sneaky it can be—showing up through perfectionism, overthinking, downplaying our wins, or never feeling “ready enough.”

Now that we’ve brought awareness to the voice of imposter syndrome, it’s time to talk about what happens next—when life shifts again, pressure hits, and growth stretches you one more time. That’s when doubt tries to creep back in. And that’s why staying grounded in the truth you’ve learned is non-negotiable. You’ve quieted the voice—now it’s time to keep it that way.

If you don’t stay grounded in who you are and what you’ve learned, imposter syndrome will try to creep back in like it never left..

That’s why this every move you make afterwards is essential cause, this is not just about getting free but staying free.

So, here’s What You Can Do Right Now to Maintain Freedom from Imposture Syndrome

1. Stay Anchored in Your Identity Not Your Achievements

Imposter syndrome makes you think your value comes from what you do. But what you do can change. who you are doesn’t.

Be intentional about staying grounded in who you are!

Write an “I Am” list grounded in truth:

  • I am steady, even when life is not.

  • I am creative, even when the outcome isn’t perfect.

  • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

  • I am equipped, even when I feel uncertain.

Keep this list it somewhere visible/easy to retrieve.

2. Create a Stay-Grounded Routine

The goal isn’t to never feel doubt (we’re human, it will happen) but it’s to recognize it and return to center.

Think about what helps you reset when those lying voices gets loud. Prayer? Journaling? Working Out? A worship playlist? A blend of all the things?
Find it—and make it a daily habit, not just an emergency response.

3. Keep a “Lies vs. Truth” Tracker

Start catching the lies early.

Create two columns in a journal:

  • On the left: the lie you heard (“I’m behind,” “I don’t belong,” “I’m not ready.”)

  • On the right: the truth that replaces it.

This is how you renew your mind in real-time. You have to put in the work!

You’ve made progress. You’ve come too far to be undone by a recycled lie. Imposter syndrome might still try, but now you’ve got tools.
You’re learning to show up differently. You’re learning to believe in what you bring. You’re learning that just because doubt knocks doesn’t mean you have to answer.

We’ll go even deeper on the vlog later this week with more strategies to stay grounded after imposter syndrome’s voice has been challenged.

Much Love,

Natalie
