Disrupted to Draw Closer

Hey there blog family!

I hope you had an amazing Easter and restful weekend. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the latest vlog on personal disruption, do yourself a favor and go there now.

This week, while we’re still discussing being a disruptive force, the focus is on our spiritual lives. As you read ahead and work on this area of your life ,remember…

Some disruptions don’t come to throw us off—they come to draw us in.

Many of us have gotten so used to doing faith, we’ve forgotten what it feels like to truly connect with God.

The Routine Isn’t the Problem—Until It Is…

Let’s be honest: routines are helpful. Reading a devotional, listening to worship music while we get dressed, saying a quick prayer before we leave the house… there’s nothing wrong with that.

Until it becomes only that. Until we go days—maybe even weeks without really sitting still. Without pouring our hearts out. Without listening. Without letting God disrupt our rhythm to remind us He’s more than a task to check off.

Here’ s some questions for you to think about…

  • “Are you rushing through your moments with God?”

  • “When was the last time you prayed without an agenda?”

  • “Do you sit with God and trust God even when He’s silent?”

  • “Are you open to hearing what you don’t want to hear from Him?”

Answered yes to any of these? Then it’s time for a spiritual disruption. God will nudge us. He’ll stir our spirit. Sometimes, He’ll even allow things to shift just enough to get our attention—so we choose to draw closer.

  • God pauses your routine and simply says, “Be still.”

  • Silence feels strange—but your soul leans in.

  • Your prayers stop feeling deep enough.

  • You feel unsettled, but not in a bad way—in a “God is inviting me deeper” kind of way

If any of these sound like you, that’s is a good thing cause God wants to deepen His relationship with you.

growTH in God can never be a bad thing.

So What Can You Do Right Now?

Here are a few ways to lean into the disruption instead of resisting it:

1. Don’t fight the silence—sit in it.
God often speaks the loudest when we’re finally quiet enough to listen.

2. Trade performance for presence.
Instead of trying to "do faith right," try being with God without pressure to produce.

3. Pray without polish.
Tell Him what’s really on your heart—even if it’s messy, uncertain, or tired.

4. Rethink your rhythm.
Ask: Am I spending time with God or just checking Him off my list?
Then make one small shift. (More stillness. More journaling. More honesty.)

Oh and I got some scriptures for you to reflect on this week:

"Be still, and know that I am God."
Psalm 46:10

"You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."
— Jeremiah 29:13

Remember, spiritual disruption isn’t about doing more—it’s about going deeper.

Let the disruption draw you back to the heart of who God is—faithful, present, and waiting to meet you right where you are.

Make sure to meet me over on the vlog Thursday so we can dig a bit deeper into this topic. Till then!

Much Love,

Natalie
